Abstracts are now being considered for Midwestern Vascular 2010. Abstracts may only be submitted electronically. We encourage you to submit your own work or to sponsor the work of a colleague.

DEADLINE: Monday, May 3, 2010 (11:59 p.m. Central Time)
Revisions to abstracts already submitted will be accepted through 5:00 p.m. Central Time, Tuesday, May 4, 2010.

In addition to the regular free paper session, the Society will feature a Rapid Fire Session with selected rapid fire reports. This session is devoted to case studies, technique descriptions, and other topics amenable to a 5 minute presentation with less than 8 slides. Time limits and limited question and answer will be strictly enforced.

SVS POSTER SESSION
In conjunction with the Chair of the SVS Program Committee the following policy has been developed:  An abstract submission accepted to the SVS poster session that has not been submitted as a paper to the Journal of Vascular Surgery® may be submitted for possible oral plenary presentation to the Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society. If the abstract has been selected for the SVS VAM poster session and has also been accepted to the plenary session of the Midwestern Vascular 2010, 34th Annual Meeting, the poster must be presented at the initial poster session of the VAM, but it will not be eligible for the SVS Plenary Session Poster Runoff: Championship Round. The paper will be presented at the plenary session of the Midwestern Vascular 2010, 34th annual meeting.


ACCME REQUIREMENTS

ACCME Disclosure
Authors are required to complete the conflict of interest section when submitting an abstract.

Additionally, the submitting/corresponding author must address the following two questions upon submission of the abstract:

•What professional practice gap does this abstract address?
•How will this abstract influence change in competence, performance or patient outcomes?

(**A practice gap is the difference between actual and ideal performance and may include the difference between actual and ideal patient outcomes.)

ACCME Policy on Employees of Commercial Interests
Industry employees can be authors, but cannot be presenters if the content of the abstract relates to the business lines and products of its employer.


 

2010 New Horizons in Vascular Surgery


The Society will continue to integrate the New Horizons in Vascular Surgery course with the main meeting, and will continue this format of broad coverage of both open and endovascular topics throughout the meeting.  The New Horizons in Vascular Surgery Committee has finalized an excellent program which is now available by selecting the link below:
